Can You Picture This???

recordings-597288_1280There is nothing new in the world except the history you do not know. –Harry S. Truman, the 33rd President of the United States (1945–53).

There is much to be learned through history, which provides lessons for the present, and guidance for the future. But first, we must be aware of it. Look at the eight-year history of this administration.

It is an administration that promised change—and delivered it by attempting to change our very culture. An administration that divided America by race, ignoring inner cities, and mocking religion. An administration that lied about Obamacare, and trounced over the middle class with their heavy boots of taxes and regulations, leaving small business crushed. An administration that opened up Isis in the Middle East, giving it potential to move into America, as it has in Europe. An administration that ignored the many calls for help of an American diplomat and his staff in Libya, and then, lied about it. An administration that produced the soul-less, utilitarian Common Core and forced it into our state’s education system. An administration that pushed Roe v Wade so far that a newborn baby, taking in its first breath outside the womb, can be mercilessly killed. An administration that allows an open border for deadly drugs and any criminal who wants to cross. An administration that has ignored the Constitution, appointing judges who make the laws instead of interpret the laws–until America has become less prosperous, less safe, less educated, has less jobs, and is less moral, altogether. In fact that very word—LESS- describes America after eight years of this dishonest administration. Why would we ever want to continue it?

History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again. –Maya Angelou

Below is the history of another country ruined by ineptness. Nothing else needs to be said–except if Hillary Clinton is elected,  prepare your children and grandchildren to live in an America that is much, much LESS than the one you grew up in.

DONE With Playing Nice??

Posted: October 14, 2016 in World On The Edge

doneI grew up in south Alabama at a time when children could literally play all day, anywhere in their neighborhood, without worry. The only warning I heard from my Catholic mother upon leaving the house was,”Play nice, now.” And so I tried to.

I tried not to lie, not to ridicule others, or bully anyone. And for the most part, other children did the same. If any of them did lie, ridicule, or bully, they were made to say they were sorry for their bad manners.

As an adult, “Play nice,” still resounds in my head when I make many of my decisions.

But not this time!

Not when my Catholic faith is put on the chopping block in the leaked emails from the Hillary Clinton campaign.

Not when Christians are called deplorable and unredeemable.

Not when Catholics are designated as an “amazing bastardization of the faith.”

Not when the Clinton campaign asserts that conservatives “must be attracted” to Catholicism for its “severely backwards gender relations.”

Not when Lie to protect your power seems to be a new commandment for Hillary Clinton who apparently sees nothing wrong with it.

Not when the word, “Constitution,” is left out altogether when asked what type of Supreme Court justice she would nominate.

Not when Hillary Clinton supports abortion on demand, even to the moment of crowning–partial birth abortion–when a baby is ready to take it’s first breath!

When did Hillary Clinton and her campaign become God??

Christians Take the Gloves OFF!!
Take no more manipulation through Political Correctness!
No more swallowing lies and cover-ups!

No more “Playing Nice.”

Absolutely, one hundred percent–DONE.

Gravediggers Burying God???

On June 8, 1783, George Washington reminded the new country of America that “without a humble imitation” of “the Divine Author of our blessed religion” we “can never hope to be a happy nation.” His own adopted daughter said of Washington that you might as well question his patriotism as to question his Christianity.

Fast forward to today.

Have we become gravediggers burying GOD?

If we do so, we are burying part of ourselves as well.

Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) was a German philosopher and atheist, who claimed God is Dead. He thought the exemplary human being must craft his/her own identity through self-realization and do so without relying on anything transcending that life—such as God or a soul.

Of course, this is ridiculous, a contradiction to who we are. We have a soul–each of us, and that soul came from God. When we say we’re made in God’s image, our human soul is what we’re talking about. It is the one and only way we are like God, who is pure spirit.

However, my human soul, and yours, are not pure spirit. Spiritual, yes–but not pure spirit. Man is a spirit in matter, in the form of a body. He is spirit and body. God and the angels are pure spirits because they are not dependent on matter, as we are, either intrinsically or extrinsically. To be completely independent of matter for any material being is impossible. The human soul is intrinsically dependent on matter for some of its activities. But our soul is not purely material either, because for other activities it is not intrinsically dependent on matter.

So the human soul of man belongs to both the realm of the spirit and the realm of matter. Man is the lowest of the spirits, and the highest of the material beings, and he alone belongs to both the realm of the spirit and the realm of matter. As the new Catholic Catechism explains, spirit and matter, in man, are not two natures united, but rather their union forms a single nature. (CCC 365).

Most human beings understand that the soul, by its nature, is often in opposition to the body. This is the struggle of every human person. Because we have free will–we can choose.

Nietzsche struggled with many questions, and used his free will–a component of his soul, and part of his human spiritual make-up–to come up with his own wrong answer about a living God, only because that living God gave him the freedom to choose.

We have the same freedom as Nietzsche, and many other God-despisers like him, because despite what they say, they have inherited spiritualty from God.

When we make personal, even political, decisions, are we helping to dig those societal graves that want to bury God, too?

Well, it cannot be done without burying ourselves–we are part of Him.

Well, it wasn’t Hillary Clinton. It was the American people who won!

…It was a win for the families who worry about their future as taxes, insurance, the cost of living, and our national debt skyrocket.

…It was a win for human life in the womb.

…And it was a win for concerned people of faith.

During Sunday night’s debate, Donald Trump said, “We have a divided nation.” Nothing could be MORE true.

Those divisions must be closed, but Hillary Clinton is not the one to do it, because quite frankly, much of it is of her making through more than thirty years of non-working, liberal policies that have chewed at America until it is near to a piece of flavorless gum.

But true America is NOT flavorless. It is vibrant!

America is the land of the free, and the home of the BRAVE. It is based on the Constitution and the Bill of OUR Rights. It is a country praising its flag, and its Creator.

Enough of the career politicians. Enough of the corruption in Washington. Enough of the all-talk, no-action politicians that have driven our country into the ground.

It’s time to rise up and take back our country. Time to make America Great Again.

file6541254930080We all know something about creating, whether it be a meal, a flower garden, a painting, a book, or a ceramic vase. When we begin our creation of these things, they never appear as they will when they are finished.

The meal is at first just a bunch of ingredients on the countertop. The flower garden begins as a patch of grass or weeds that we must dig up in order to plant. The painting starts off as a canvas without color. The book is only an idea. The vase, a lump of clay.

We go through a lot of work putting these things into the form that we want them to be. We use our minds, our hearts, our hands–and it can be a struggle. But if we’re committed, we don’t give up. We keep our eyes on the end results, the beauty of our finished creation.

This the way God works, too. We begin as a thought in the mind of God. He brings us into being, and tends us, never separating from us—though we can, and often do, separate from Him. He molds us by His hand, through the joyful and sorrowful events of our lives, into the loving people we are meant to be.

The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord saying, “Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will announce My words to you.” Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something on the wheel. But the vessel that he was making of clay was spoiled in the hand of the potter; so he remade it into another vessel, as it pleased the potter to make.

Then the word of the Lord came to me saying, “Can I not, O house of Israel, deal with you as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand…Jeremiah 18:1-6

At times in our lives, the hands of God do not seem gentle, and we are in mental or physical pain–i.e we are suffering. And we don’t want to suffer–who does? But God does allow suffering. He doesn’t cause it, but He allows it to be used for some purpose in our life. Some purpose we may know nothing about at the time.

One way to get through painful times is to picture ourselves, as Jeremiah did, as clay in the hands of the potter. And, just as we do when we create something ourselves, to keep our thoughts on the end results.

Like a beautifully strong building, America is structured.  Its foundation is articulated law, created to assure the rights of  her people.  The foundation of America is why she works so well that people from all over the world aspire to come here.

But when–as in any building–the foundation cracks, all above it is in danger.

Cracking in a foundation can be caused from extreme top-heaviness. In America’s case–way too much bad governing.

What happens? The building sways.

The building topples.

And many American citizens topple with it.

Have you checked on your America’s foundation lately? Is it cracking? Has it become weakened by insane policies that have caused it to sway to the point that toppling may be the result?

None of us like controlling people. None of us like to be under the thumb of another, with their weighty opinions imposed upon us. None of us like to be ridiculed for what we believe, and forced to do what we don’t believe.

And we shouldn’t have to put up with it. We live in a country founded on our personal freedoms. We are not told what to do by some king, queen, or their council–are we?

Well. . .hmmmm. Let’s take a look at controlling people

Controlling people are self-centered and immature. They think they are bigger than they are. They don’t like your independence, only theirs, so they’re likely to make sure you don’t rule yourself.

How? They take away your choices, usually through manipulative propaganda, and if that doesn’t work as well as they would like, they enforce laws through some kingly, or executive, power they perceive they have been given.

But . . . . to take away a man’s freedom of choice, even his freedom to make the wrong choice, is to manipulate him as though he were a puppet and not a person.” — Madeleine L’Engle

We are not puppets in our personal relationships. Neither are we puppets to be used by those in control of our government. Yet, we are. And people are angry.

Not only with our president, but political parties. As controllers, they are also self-centered and immature, believing they are bigger than they are. Besides that, they may be too filled with avarice and pride to use typical common sense. Their words are used to tickle ears, to get the vote. But are they sincere? Or are they only using huge segments of the population to get what they want for themselves.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires.–2 Timothy 4:3

We need a person with guts and gumption enough to stand up for the sound doctrine on which our great nation was built. Because the major issues we face today have not been soundly dealt with.

We need to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.

Now, it is our turn to decide. We can restore America. We can get rid of the pompous King Kongs already in our lives, and in our government who say one thing to secure a vote from others, but do something entirely different for themselves. I.E.–they lie.

Well, here’s the TRUTH. Nobody crowned them Kings, or Queens, of anything.

MISGUIDED TOLERANCE???

As human beings, we are inherently good, but unfortunately, we sometimes allow ourselves to be misguided when assessing certain happenings in our society. Today, we are misguided by the trappings of a word: Tolerance.

HOW?

marys-mountain-bookcoverimageWell, do you want to be described as ‘intolerant?’

No, that’s a big negative. It shows us as small and petty.

Do you want to be described as “tolerant?’
Yes, in many circles, that’s a plus. It shows us as large and magnanimous.

Except, through political correctness, and the charade of radical progressivism, tolerance has been taken to the extreme–in education, the news media, in the family, and the entire Christian culture. All this, based on the philosophy of Saul Alinsky, known as the father of community organizing, with his goal of restructuring society and making that tolerable by restructuring the church as well.

We are at a “precarious moment in our history” when churches must speak truth to power or risk the loss of a lot more than their tax statuses, former Ave Maria Law School chaplain Father Michael Orsi said in a blistering speech at a National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children event on September 10.

Listen. The soul of America is at risk.
